Backup for Office 365 mailboxes is supported.

EdgeSafe Mailbox/OST Backup targets organizations that use Microsoft Exchange and need to have an easily accessed backup beside the inherent Exchange backup.

EdgeSafe Mailbox/OST Backup backs up the OST cache files seamlessly and incrementally into a central network share or into an individual, per user backup storage.

EdgeSafe Mailbox/OST Backup is composed of EdgeSafe Control Station and EdgeSafe OST2PST Backup Agent. The Microsoft Exchange mailbox is backed up through the native OST cache file that resides on the user workstation's.

EdgeSafe Mailbox/OST Backup has the ability to carry out the backup without having to coordinate it with the Exchange operator. This is the result of the use the OST file as the source for the backup, and hence allowing a local backup that is fast to recover from.

The backup can run even if the connection to Exchange is lost and even if Outlook is in use. These points allows a true automatic and consistent backup, and since the backup is incremental the backup can be done while the user is working.

Every predefined period, EdgeSafe OST2PST Backup Agent checks if the backup destination is available. Then it copies any email item that had be newly created/modified since the last backup run. The backup is done into a mirror location within a backup PST file that is located within a secure per user backup folder.

Since only new and/or changed email items are copied, the mailbox backup is incremental and therefore is fast and consumes minimal storage space a bandwidth.

EdgeSafe Mailbox/OST Backup is network friendly. It is able to handle large deployments by staging the first full backup run--overcoming the initial full backup network overload. It also has the capacity to diffuse the backup over a specified time interval, rather than starting all workstations at the same time, as well as throttling down the upload bandwidth.

Another unique feature is the ability to restrict the backup process to run only when the user is logged into its "home base network". This feature helps mobile users avoiding a backup process while for example they are logged in into an airport network.

As EdgeSafe Mailbox/OST Backup creates standard backup archive files; they can be searched by outlook as well as by most search engines.

EdgeSafe Mailbox/OST Backup incrementally synchronizes the backup PST file with the source OST so that it is ready for an immediate "Image Like" recovery from a disaster situation, which can be done by the end-user if the organization allows it ("self-service restore").

At the same time EdgeSafe Mailbox/OST Backup is able to retain, for a pre-configured period of time, historically backed up items over months and even years without having to multiply the backup space by having to copy the OST file over and over again.
