With email having become the major element in the communications suites of most firms, the issue of how to effectively backup the personal mail store (pst) has become a vexing problem.
We have tried everything -- scripted closed file backup to the server in the middle of the night, user-controlled closed file backup at the start of the day, during the lunch hour, and at the end of the day -- nothing works seamlessly, regularly, or consistently, except PST2PST.
Once installed, it is a set and forget application that maintains email backup in realtime, such that in the event of a workstation disaster, email is easily restored. Without this utility, restoration was nothing short of a nightmare. The email backup repository (on the server) is archived, such that even if an wholesale disaster were to occur, all personal mail stores could be easily restored.
I would recommend this application to anyone.
